CULTURE
In San Daniele del Friuli and its surroundings you can get closer to the art of the territory, discovering real excellence. Among the places of interest are:
- Guarneriana Library
Founded by Guarnerio d'Artegna in San Daniele del Friuli, it is the oldest library in Friuli and one of the first public libraries in Europe. - Church of Santa Maria della Fratta
The church was built in 1348 on a tower of the city walls and dates from the X-XI century, now incorporated into the octagonal apse. - Arcano Castle
The Upper Arcano Castle, beautifully preserved and still inhabited, still has magic for the isolated place where it was built. The castle still retains its charming medieval appearance, with its crenellated curtains to the Guelphs, the characteristic double tower and the mighty keep with, on top, an elegant series of late Romanesque mullioned windows. Inside there is a frescoed room by Andrea Urbani and various rooms with fireplaces and portals by Raffaello de' Raffaelli. - Ragogna Castle
The castle of Ragogna (VI-XVIII century) rises in one of the most suggestive and panoramic places of Ragogna. Today the castle complex has been restored and is the venue for various events.

NATURE
In the surroundings of San Daniele del Friuli you can find everything: from the mountains to the river, from the lake to the countryside.
To list some attractions:
- Tagliamento River
The most important river in Friuli Venezia Giulia and one of the few that has preserved its original morphology with interwoven canals. In summer it is also a natural beach for locals and tourists. - Ragogna Lake
Ragogna lake, the last intermorenic basin in the region, is of glacial origin. Ideal for walking, relaxing, picnics, fishing and bird-watching. Not far from the lake is the Israelite cemetery with the oldest tomb dating back to 1742. - Mount Ragogna
The modest relief of Mount Ragogna is located near the course of the Tagliamento river, on which it offers a beautiful view. The CAI 813 path goes from Muris to San Pietro di Ragogna and allows to visit many sites of the First World War.
